From Aug 07 to Sep 16 2006
The exhibition presented at the LURIXS: Arte Contemporânea is divided into two parts:
A collection of works from the series produced from 1983 to 1990, entitled Jogos de Dados, is exhibited in the main gallery space. Through these works, all in plastic laminate on wood, the artist returns to his concrete sphase. Ten works of this series participated in the Venice Biennale, in 1986, and were also subject of solo exhibitions in 1990, at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, in 1991, at the Galleria Mercato del Sale in Milan, Italy, and also took part at the 21th Biennial of São Paulo.
At LURIXS 2, a historical point-of-view is taken, with representative pieces of various phases of his career, allowing the visitor to see samples of the artist's diversified production that preceded the series displayed in the main gallery space. These include prints, silkscreens, photographs, and furniture designed by Geraldo de Barros and produced by Unilabor, working community founded by artist and the Dominican Friar John the Baptist, in 1954, leading visitors to his rich and multi-faceted poetic.
